Mutual Development Company, LLC was formed in January 1989 for the development and management of commercial real estate properties.
Mutual Developmentís projects include Pace Warehouse, Walgreens, Burger King, Phillips 66, & Aldiís in Roeland Park, Kansas, as well as Kragen Automotive in Madera California.
In 1998 Mutual Development acquired Monterey Shore Plaza in Palm Desert, California where Mutual Development Company repositioned a 260,000 square foot development into a newly renovated center with an additional 82,000 square feet of retail space. This property was owned and managed until January of 2006 when it was sold.
Mutual Development started developing properties in Arizona in 2004 when it acquired commercial PADS in Scottsdale, Arizona. The two commercial PADS were developed into 9,800 square feet and 22,500 square feet of retail located at Raintree and Interstate 101. After the properties were fully leased, they were sold in July 2007.
Another retail development done by Mutual is Gateway Crossing, a 250,000 square foot shopping center in Avondale, Arizona in 2006. Gateway Crossing includes tenants such as Best Buy, Old Navy, Comerica, Hobby Lobby, Islandís, Paradise Bakery, Claim Jumper, FedEx, Chipotle and other tenants. Mutual Development currently manages Gateway Crossing.
In addition to retail, Mutual Development acquired a 2.18 acre medical office site in July, 2007 in Avondale, Arizona and completed the development in October, 2008. It sold the properties in December of 2008 to the users.
J. Walters Construction Company, LLC. is an affiliate of Mutual Development and is a commercial General Contracting Company that was founded by Joseph R. Walters in 1987. J. Walters has done various commercial projects for Mutual & other owners, such as shopping centers, office buildings, warehouses, restaurants, gas stations, car washes, banks, auto parts stores, and a wide variety of tenant finishes and store fixture installation projects.
